The AUB Pulmonary Model couples :

  • Lung Mechanics dynamic model predicts the air flowrate and lung volume as a function of pressure.

  • Modeling gases transport in the airways

  • Modeling species transport across the alveolar membrane

  • Modeling gases exchange with the blood flowing pulmonary capillaries taking into account the oxygen and carbon dioxide dissociation curves

Future plans :

  • Accounting for other species

  • Modeling gases exchange between the blood and different tissue.

lung mechanics model: the pressure-volume hysteresis for a baby boy, a 35 years old man, and a 75 yeras old man.

Oxygen and Carbon dioxide partial pressure (mmHg) in the blood exiting the pulmonary capillaries as a function of time under normal breathing conditions of a baby boy, 35 years old man, and a 75 years old man.
